These are the initials for “Above Down Inside Out”. The only way health can occur is from inside-out. Think about it…. Nutrition, exercise, lowering stress, removing subluxation– all these things change the inside of you, naturally. Outside-in approaches do not produce true health. Has anyone ever thought they could add ten years to their life by swallowing a cough remedy or taking a a pain medication? Of course not!  Nothing you do from the outsite can affect your true health potential.  True health changes are all accomplished from the inside.

Pregnancy and Chiropractic, A winning Combination!

October 6th, 2007

Are you pregnant? Have you been experiencing low back pain, headaches, nausea, insomnia, or other symptoms? Chiropractic care may be able to help you and your baby achieve a happier and healthier pregnancy and delivery.

Upon discovering they are pregnant, many women become conscious of eating healthy foods, avoiding alcohol and cigarettes, exercising, and getting proper sleep; however, they are unaware of the importance of having their prenatal chiropractic checkups.

Pregnancy is a special time in a woman’s life. It is a period of rapid development with many physiological and endocrinological changes taking place. Chiropractic care helps to normalize nervous system function for mother and baby and allows for the best pregnancy possible.

Fifty percent of all women complain of low back pain during pregnancy partially due to ligament laxity and the protruding abdomen. By relieving the discomfort many women experience during pregnancy, Chiropractic becomes an important component of prenatal care and can make both your pregnancy and delivery easier.

Clinical studies have shown the benefits of Chiropractic care during pregnancy. Irvin Henderson, MD, a member of the AMA board of trustees, conducted one study. The study concluded that women who received chiropractic care during their third trimester of pregnancy were able to carry and deliver with more comfort.

The many benefits that result from Chiropractic care during pregnancy are also especially wonderful during delivery. Patients often report that their deliveries, while under chiropractic care, are faster and more comfortable than they were in previous pregnancies. Dr. Per Freitag, MD, a well-known orthopedist, conducted a hospital study that incorporated chiropractic adjustments during the patients’ pregnancy. The study concluded that the need for painkillers during delivery in these patients was reduced by half.

Your doctor of Chiropractic will keep your special needs in mind during this important time. Chiropractic care can be started at any time during your pregnancy; it’s never too early or too late. For these reasons and more, your chiropractor is the one doctor you should remember to call.

1 workout & 1 skipped dessert

September 30th, 2007

How much weight would you permanently lose if you worked out once and skipped a dessert today?  Uh… not much, right? Chiropractic care is a lifestyle and permanent changes are unlikely with just a few visits. In fact, if you are truly interested in weight loss or a toning program, a regular exercise program and better nutrition must become a way of life. The same with chiropractic. Health is a process, not an event. If you truly want better health in addition to relief for your current discomfort, a regular schedule of chiropractic is imperative for you to function at your optimum potential.

The Golden Gate Bridge

September 16th, 2007

It’s the most famous bridge in the world. What most don’t know is that the reason it’s still standing is that it is constantly being maintained.  Exposed to the elements and the stress of 40,000 cars a day, preserving the Golden Gate Bridge is a full time job. When painting crews finish at one end, they immediately start over at the other. Staying well requires constant attention, too.  No, the human body isn’t a machine or a static structure, but it requires constant attention. Regular chiropractic care is just one of the ways to help preserve good health (function).
